The 4 cellists from Austria, Germany and Australia experiment with all that is possible and impossible on their instruments as they playfully escort their audience on a musical journey from the Renaissance through to jazz, pop, rock and avant-garde.

A diverse repertoire including original compositions and commissioned works, arrangements and improvisations mark the individuality and flexibility of this formation. Programs are highlighted with a selection of songs from blues to soul and Latin American gems interpreted by Gudula Urban whose velvety, jazzy vocal qualities compliment the rich orchestral sound of the cello ensemble.

Special guests from the world of theater, literature, jazz and world music have collaborated with eXtracello: such as Peter Herbert (bass), Bernhard Landauer (counter-tenor), Linde Prelog, Karl Menrad (actors), Paul Schuberth (acordeon), Willi Resitarits (vocalist) and Karl Ratzer (guitar) and more.

The ensemble has performed throughout Europe and has been invited to International Festivals including Salzburger Festspiele, International Accordeon Festival Vienna, Imago Dei, Diabelli Sommer Mattsee (A), Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele (Ger), Austrian Music Week in Bulgaria and many more.

Their Debut CD ``Nr. One´´ 2012 has received vast acclaim from music critics and public alike and has been broadcast extensively in Radio Austria ORF, as well as being selected for 3 film projects.
